Staple Vegan Products

Whichever path you decide to take in life, I've realized that you don't reach that destination overnight. Instead, you continue to better yourself and work towards a better and a healthier you every single day.

You are what you eat. Many of us have heard this saying many times before but I have noticed it to be so true especially in this past year. This is one of the main reasons we became Vegan. This is not to say that you will turn into an animal but the way our food is processed in general makes me think twice before putting certain foods in my mouth. This stretches beyond meat. I remember telling someone that we were Vegan and they proceeded to tell me that everything is processed so might as well not hold back. I do agree that a lot of our food that is put on the display for us to purchase is processed, including the fresh produce. I would have to disagree with that person in regards to eating whatever since so much of our food is processed. To me it's like saying, you live once so don't worry about your health. Sadly, most of these people end up half of their life running to different doctors looking for answers and spending a lot of money. I am not saying that you shouldn't enjoy life, but you should do it wisely so that you can live your life and enjoy it with optimal health. So here is a list of the items that we use instead of regular products that we grew up using since we don't do dairy or meat anymore. Of course, this list doesn't include all of the variety of fruits, vegetable and nuts that are at our disposal as well. (These are not all of the products that we use, but just some major staple products.)

DAIRY ALTERNATIVES

MEAT ALTERNATIVES

COOKING & BAKING ALTERNATIVES

One thing I would like to clarify is that this is not a weight loss diet. I don't know how many people messaged me and asked me about weight loss. Everyone is different and you may experience a 10-pound weight loss. I was never a big meat eater so I didn't have a major weight change. (plus I got pregnant two months into us doing this diet) Clean eating is a lifestyle. I can tell you that switching over really opened up my eyes to so much more variety of foods that I've never consumed. I was eating a lot of dairy products without my knowledge. Not only do I feel better, but I eat a lot more variety of food. My ultimate goal is to eat as much fresh and raw products as possible because they digest easily and are the best foods for your body and your overall health. When we first started, we leaned heavily on the meat alternatives and carbs which is not a good thing either. It's a learning process. We are learning new recipes and new alternatives almost daily and that has helped us to clean up the way we eat even more than when we first started this lifestyle. Now, I buy less meat alternative products and make my own dishes from scratch that are healthier and higher in protein so that we can be filled up more. I personally do not regret switching over. My body is thanking me for it, and my skin has never been clearer.

Depending on the demand, I will continue to share with you what I've learned. So please comment below and let me know if this is something you would like me to continue sharing. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I love having an open conversation with you guys in regards to this subject. If you're planning to switch over, I would definitely recommend you to start with these products to get your body detoxed and your taste buds adjusted.
